It is important to note that many frequencies are used because:

>Different frequencies are absorbed, reflected and refracted differently with different types of materials they interact with.
>Read range varies with frequencies
>Tag antenna size and manufacturing method varies with frequency
>Legacy frequency allocations
>Cost of implementation

However, it is highly notable that presently the industry is directed towards using only UHF and in some exceptional cases HF frequencies for there systems. (i.e. ISO-18000-6 and 18000-7 (for active tags)

The ITU region 1 in conjunction with ISO-18000-6 have allocated the frequencies for this region to be utilized by RFID systems the band between 866 Mhz to 868 Mhz at an ERP of 2W and a maximum number of 10 channels with a spurious limit of -63dBc

DEPCO systems is working with the Saudi CITC organization to get through the accreditation of the ISO-18000-6 and ISO-18000-7 standards.
