RFID usages are immense & have a large cross section over a broad range of industries. We will list here the industries where RFID has already been applied and we will give a few examples where it is considered a huge success:

>Live animal stock industry
>Pharmaceutical industry
>Healthcare industry
>Military industry
>Aerospace industry
>Supply chain (perishable and non-perishable goods)
>Automotive industry
>Supply chain (warehousing, land transportation, sea transportation, air transportations)
>Airports and seaports
>Retail industry
>Security

A few examples are listed below:

>Live animal stock: Since the 1980’s all live animal stock which are traded internationally are all tagged using an RFID chip clipped to the ear of the animal (the yellow tag). Although this system uses a very rudimentary method of tagging this is to show that RFID tagging is nothing new to the business world.

>Pharmaceutical industry: manufacturing of medicine and tracing its accountability across the supply chain until the actual consumer is highly important to this industry and required by LAW. Some major US pharmaceutical companies have initiated a project to enable live real time traceability of all medicines produced and distributed along the supply chain.

>Retail industry: a new trend is growing with the jewelry business worldwide where RFID is proving to be a very good solution to enhance in store security and increase time taken to audit the goods within a store.
