WIFI enables users to connect directly to each other in a wireless peer-to-peer mode. Other modes like access point allows several enabled WIFI devices to connected to a centralized network or access point.

WIFI was first designed to be used for laptops in a LAN environment. However, it is now used for many devices such as cell phones, PDA, Internet, televisions, DVD players, digital cameras, and games such as Nintendo, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Allowing an explosion in its potential uses.

WIFI products are becoming widely used and widely available in the market resulting in reduction of prices and making it a very economical option for networks.

WIFI also enables users at home in the office to connect to a wireless local network and connect many computers to each other and increase the internet throughput. This method reduces the effort spend on building a wired network with Ethernet cables all over the walls.

A person who has a device such laptop or cell phone that has WIFI can connect to the internet region is covered by an access point (hotspot). The region of a hotspot varies from few square meters to many square kilometers. These hotspots are being deployed all over the world and are presently available in most public places & buildings.

Our usage of WIFI technology results always within our proposed systems in urban area, where in some cases we opt from using fiber connection and replace this through a layer of a WLAN and incorporate on top of it many systems, like IP-CCTV, traffic control, etc.
